Zeeuwse Streken is not an ordinary restaurant.
It is an ode to Zeeland – to the salty sea breeze, the light dancing across the water, and the people whose lives are intertwined with the sea. Founder Cas grew up among boats, breaking waves, and endless summers. There, in the fishing village of Arnemuiden, he learned what freedom truly is: wind in your hair, salt on your lips, and the sea that always calls.
That call still resonates – in every dish, every gesture of hospitality, every detail.
The name Zeeuwse Streken says it all. It refers to the lines of the landscape – sea, beach, polder, forest – and the traits of the people who live there: headstrong, honest, bold. Here, you don’t taste a trick, but true character.
The kitchen was born from passion. Cas discovered his fire behind the stove, inspired by masters such as Erik van Bockhoven and Michel Louws. What began as a love for cooking grew into a lifelong craft in which artistry and entrepreneurship go hand in hand. In the heart of Middelburg – the beating heart of Zeeland – Zeeuwse Streken found its home.

Everything here breathes a connection to the region. The fish is caught in our own waters, the vegetables come from farmers we know by name. Every ingredient tells a story of origin, honesty, and care. Because we don’t believe in suppliers, but in relationships. Not in customers, but in guests.
Family, too, is inseparable from who we are. From the cousin who works on the farm where our grandfather once walked, to the second cousin who hunts in the dunes — all of them contribute to what we do. It makes every plate a piece of family history.
At Zeeuwse Streken, no day is ever the same. Every table has its own story, every dish its own tone. Together with a close-knit team, we create moments that linger — flavours that bring back the sound of seagulls and the feeling of sand beneath your feet.
And we continue to grow. Not to become bigger, but to take deeper root. With new initiatives, products, and ideas that all share the same core: a love for Zeeland, for its people, for its character.
Because whether you come from far away or live just around the corner — the moment you drive into Zeeland and the sun slowly sinks into the sea, you know:
you’re home.
